The Sega Forever collection will be available for download worldwide, starting with Asia, from June 22nd. It will be interesting to see if the games included in this deal will be worth checking out If Switch users purchase Rawr. The company has already launched the fan favorite Crazy Taxi last month and plans to add more classic games to the Forever collection. Currently, the publishers cheapest game is Rawr-Off, which costs 2.99. The iPhone and iPad versions even come with iMessage stickers for that retro feel. ![]() The titles are free to download and are ad-supported but the ads can be removed via in-app purchases for $2 per title. The initial launch includes classics such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon, and Altered Beast. The Sega Forever collection comes with five free titles that have imprinted fond memories for gamers of the bygone era. It looks like Sega wants to give gamers a blast from the past, because they have just announced the availability of Sega Genesis classics on iOS and Android. Remember a pixelated Mario jumping around Mushroom Kingdom to save a kidnapped princess? Or the (awful) sounds from your motherboard speaker when the Prince of Persia gets killed by the evil Wazir? Modern AAA titles with 4K visuals, 4x FSAA, Anisotropic filtering and ambient occlusion have changed the way we perceive games, but retro games sure had great gameplay and mechanics.
